Lukimbi Safari Lodge is one of only 7 private concessions in the Kruger National Park, South Africa.

Experience a unique private safari in this vast protected reserve where the Big Five and a wide variety of other animals and birds roam free in their natural habitat.

Lukimbi Safari Lodge was choosen with great care to ensure that the extraordinary magic of the reserve could be fully appreciated, whether out in the bush on safari or from the sanctuary of the lodge itself. When we discovered a clearing under a cluster of ancient trees, in front of a natural spring with a stunning view along the bank of the Lwakahle River, we knew we had found our home.

It took two years to build the lodge, which we constructed ourselves using natural materials to blend seamlessly into the surrounding environment and leave a minimal footprint on the earth. Nestled among marula trees, sweetthorn acacias, knobthorns, and bushwillows lining the water, we built the lodge on stilts with numerous carved concrete panels that are a distinctive feature throughout the property.

Every room and living space was designed to maximize the view, with latticed ceilings filtering the sun’s dappled light, creating ambient shifting shadows as the sun moves across the sky. This lodge is one with the environment, and you can truly feel it.

Lukimbi has a character all its own – warm, inviting, charmingly imperfect, and a little quirky too. Bright, richly textured natural fabrics, bold furniture chosen for comfort, and artisanal crafted artworks encourage complete relaxation. Guests are invited to make themselves at home in the lounge, the bar, the dining room, one of the relaxation alcoves on the upper or lower deck, or in the library.

The pool area offers a serene retreat right on the bank of the Lwakahle River, featuring multi-leveled relaxation decks and a pool overlooking the river, with a children’s paddle pool nearby.
